Position:
Material Estimator Summary of Position The Material Estimator is responsible for developing accurate material cost estimates to support quoting and proposal activities. This position analyzes RFQ requirements, Bills of Material (BOMs), CAD models, drawings, and other technical information to determine material types, quantities, sizes, and associated costs. Essential Functions Daily roles include collaborating in a team-oriented environment with cross functional workers. Evaluate the material content for every component contained within the RFQ Enter costs within specified material & commercial item documents Maintain knowledge of the material supplier and sub-tier supplier market Interact with supply base Contribute to corporate quality policy and objectives Measure modeled components Order material off of the B.O.M. or from CAD Model and add stock where required for machining Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material (BOMs), CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how material size, type, and machining requirements impact cost. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and organizational skills. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a related position. Basic
