Job Description

Commercial EstimatorOpportunity We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to play a key role in driving profitable growth through accurate estimating, strategic bidding, customer relationships, and project awards. This is a high-impact opportunity for an estimator who enjoys taking ownership of the full bid lifecycle —from identifying opportunities and developing takeoffs through bid submission, customer follow-up, contract commitment, and continued support through project execution. The ideal candidate brings commercial construction estimating experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously. What Makes This Opportunity Interesting Direct impact on revenue growth and project backlog Ownership of the full sales and estimating lifecycle Exposure to commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $10K to $4.5M Opportunity to develop long-term relationships with General Contractors, Construction Managers, and repeat customers Close collaboration with estimating, operations, project management, and leadership Opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing organization Culture focused on integrity, accountability, relationships, and continuous improvement Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors and Construction Managers Identify, manage, and prioritize leads and bid opportunities Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop detailed estimates Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and project documents Develop detailed scope breakdowns and identify project requirements Prepare and submit competitive bids within established deadlines Follow up on submitted bids to secure project awards and gather customer feedback Support material procurement and coordination of long-lead items Assist with change orders, scope adjustments, and pricing updates Remain engaged with project status to help support successful project outcomes Track historical estimating and project data to improve future pricing, accuracy, and bidding strategy Manage multiple active bids while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
What We're Looking For:
2-5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience Experience estimating commercial construction scopes such as painting, carpentry, or related trades Demonstrated ability to perform accurate takeoffs and develop detailed estimates Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and scopes of work Experience working with digital estimating and takeoff tools Proven ability to manage tight bid schedules and deadlines Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities simultaneously Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Detail-oriented approach with strong follow-through Growth mindset and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and processes Preferred Division 9 estimating experience Experience working directly with General Contractors and Construction Managers Experience supporting projects from initial estimate through award and execution Experience with commercial painting, carpentry, or comparable specialty trade estimating The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate is more than someone who can produce a number. You should be comfortable operating in a hands-on environment, communicating with customers and internal teams, working under deadline pressure, and taking ownership of opportunities from beginning to end. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
