Job Description
Job Summary This position will be responsible for preparing, communicating and tracking all quoting activities both internally and externally. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- To respond to RFQ's in a timely manner
- To communicate with Sales, Engineering and Supply Chain to gather information needed to quote jobs
- Prepare documents needed for Quote Review
- Retrieve outside sourcing quotes as needed for Quote Review
- Schedule Quote Review with senior management and follow up as needed
- Complete Quote Entry and communication of final quote to customer prior to deadline
- To maintain database of quotes
- To track jobs won/lost and report to Management on a regular basis
- To trend jobs won/lost to improve accuracy of quoting process
- To communicate new jobs/customers to company keeping all informed
- To understand external market trends and use data when quoting
- To understand internal financial resource and use data when quoting Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Associates degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Engineering or other relevant field (or a combination of education and relevant work experience)
- 4+ years' experience working in similar position at manufacturing company
- Previous machining or relevant technical experience
- Previous experience in customer interfacing position Language Skills
- Ability to write professionally for multiple outlets that conform to prescribed style and format
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively Mathematical The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. The ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule for Computer Skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio)
