Job Description

Catalyst Supply Co. is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Window & Deck Estimator to support our contractor, builder, and remodeling customers by providing accurate material takeoffs, competitive pricing, and technical product recommendations. The Window & Deck Estimator serves as a trusted advisor to customers by helping them build complete project packages while ensuring estimates are accurate, profitable, and delivered with exceptional speed and service. This role requires strong construction knowledge, product expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities Prepare complete material estimates for residential and light commercial projects. Review customer plans, drawings, sketches, and field measurements. Produce accurate takeoffs for windows, doors, decking, railing, and related accessories. Ensure estimates meet company pricing and margin objectives. Identify opportunities to increase project value through alternative products or upgraded systems. Contractor Support Work directly with contractors, builders, remodelers, and installers. Answer technical product questions. Recommend cost-effective solutions that meet project requirements. Assist customers in selecting products based on budget, performance, and availability. Build long-term relationships through responsiveness and industry expertise. Project Coordination Coordinate with purchasing, operations, and outside sales representatives. Verify product availability and lead times. Resolve specification or pricing discrepancies before orders are processed. Assist with revisions, change orders, and updated estimates. Maintain accurate documentation throughout the estimating process.
Product Knowledge Develop expertise in:
Replacement and new construction windows Entry and patio doors Composite decking systems Treated lumber PVC trim Aluminum and composite railing Fastening systems Flashing and waterproofing products Manufacturer installation requirements Local building codes Customer Service Deliver estimates within established turnaround times. Communicate clearly regarding pricing, lead times, substitutions, and product availability. Follow up on outstanding quotes to support sales growth. Help customers solve project challenges quickly and professionally. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate estimating records. Update pricing as manufacturer costs change. Utilize estimating software, ERP systems, and CRM platforms. Assist with inventory planning by identifying frequently quoted products. Support continuous improvement of estimating processes. Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in estimating, construction, building materials, or exterior remodeling. Strong understanding of window and deck products. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to read construction plans and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software. Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Preferred Experience working in a building supply or lumberyard environment. Knowledge of major window manufacturers and composite decking brands. Familiarity with ERP or estimating software. Previous experience supporting contractors or builders. $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
