Crew Lead / Installer - Interior & Exterior Construction Type A Construct - [St. Louis, MO]

Competitive, based on experience Position Summary Type A Construct is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator with extensive experience in residential remodeling and new construction. This position will oversee projects from estimating and pre-construction through completion while maintaining strong customer relationships, controlling project costs, and leading field teams. We are looking for a construction professional who can estimate accurately, manage projects profitably, communicate effectively, solve problems, and lead people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Estimate residential remodeling and new construction projects. Meet with customers to understand scope, budget, and expectations. Review plans, specifications, existing conditions, and project requirements. Develop accurate labor, material, subcontractor, and project budgets. Manage projects from contract through completion. Maintain project schedules, budgets, job costing, and documentation. Coordinate employees, subcontractors, vendors, materials, inspections, and deliveries. Manage change orders and communicate changes clearly to customers. Monitor project costs, labor, production, and profitability. Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure quality and progress. Resolve construction issues quickly and effectively. Manage punch lists, closeout, and customer turnover. Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers. Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers, Foremen, and field personnel. Promote accountability, teamwork, quality, and professionalism. Help improve company processes and construction standards.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Extensive residential remodeling experience. Extensive New construction experience. Commercial and residential experience. Proven project management and estimating experience. Strong knowledge of residential/ commercial construction methods, materials, and sequencing. Experience managing subcontractors and field crews. Strong customer service and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and team-building ability. Understanding of construction budgets, job costing, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing. Ability to read plans and specifications. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who takes ownership of their projects and does not need to be micromanaged. They understand that a successful project must be well-built, on schedule, within budget, profitable, and a positive experience for the customer. They should be confident working with homeowners, employees, subcontractors, and vendors and have the ability to build teams, develop people, and make decisions in the field.
