Metal Fabrication Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Estimator to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project requirements, preparing comprehensive cost estimates, and collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and production teams. Duties Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to determine material and labor requirements for metal fabrication projects. Develop detailed cost estimates by leveraging knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and industry standards. Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP and Oracle to input data, track project costs, and manage inventory control. Collaborate with demand planning and production planning teams to forecast material needs and optimize inventory management. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely procurement of materials through supply chain management practices. Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety. Prepare proposals, bids, and quotes that clearly outline scope of work, timelines, costs, and assumptions for clients and internal stakeholders. Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as needed based on changes in scope or supply chain conditions. Skills Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to metal fabrication and production planning. Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms for inventory management and demand forecasting. Expertise in supply chain management techniques including procurement, logistics, and inventory control. Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to optimize material flow and reduce waste. Experience with demand planning tools to accurately forecast project needs and align production schedules accordingly. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce costs across operations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
