Job Description

We are seeking an Estimator to prepare bids and manage preconstruction efforts for heavy highway and bridge projects . This role works closely with Project Managers and leadership to develop accurate cost estimates, analyze plans, and evaluate subcontractor and material quotes. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans and specifications for constructability Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids Prepare bids, proposals, and value-engineering options Assist in risk assessment and recommend cost-saving strategies Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm scope and constructability Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) 5+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, highway, or bridge projects Strong ability to read plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports Proficient with estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK ) and Microsoft Office Knowledge of production rates, construction methods, and DOT standards Why Join Us Work on high-profile heavy highway and bridge projects Competitive compensation and benefits Opportunity to grow within a well-established, hands-on team If you are interested in this Estimator role in the Kansas City area please apply!
