This role is central to our project lifecycle, involving the creation of detailed proposals, plan reviews, and contract pricing. The ideal candidate is an analytic data-driven professional who excels at estimating functions such as: cost calculation, bid and proposal preparation, product research, documentation audits, and contracts management maintaining high data integrity within our job management system. To succeed in this role, you must possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating complex formulas, performing data analysis, creating customized informational charts and unwavering attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Proposals:
Prepare accurate builder proposals by reviewing plans, researching product pricing, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Advanced Data Management:
Utilize expert-level Excel skills (complex formulas, macros, pivot tables) to maintain workbooks, analyze data, and visualize findings through custom charts.
Client & Project Coordination:
Manage ongoing communication with builders from project kickoff to completion, ensuring all specs and selections are aligned.
Systems & Documentation:
Maintain the company's job management software, organize estimate records, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Contract Review:
Audit pricing contracts for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies according to department protocols.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2years of experience in an estimating role or similar Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, charts) Experience in construction industry preferred Proficiency with technology, computers, and software Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively work in a team environment Exhibit strong professional work ethic Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Physical Requirements:
This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typing, writing, and analyzing data. Moving, carrying and lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Moving throughout the building to perform daily tasks. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
