We are seeking a Manufacturing Cost Estimator / Product Cost Analyst to join our Product Development team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, analyzing manufacturing processes, and partnering with multiple departments to develop accurate product costs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting new product development, customer quoting, and profitability improvement. Position Summary The Manufacturing Cost Estimator is responsible for developing accurate product cost estimates by analyzing materials, labor, manufacturing processes, and production requirements. This position works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Production teams to ensure products are accurately costed and priced for profitability. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, understands production processes, and has strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing upholstered furniture products. Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor standards, and manufacturing routings. Calculate material costs including wood, foam, fabric, hardware, packaging, and purchased components. Estimate labor requirements based on production processes and work standards. Review product drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation. Partner with Purchasing to verify material costs, supplier pricing, and availability. Support Sales and Customer Service teams with accurate product pricing information. Maintain and update product costing databases as material and labor costs change. Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements. Assist with engineering changes and ensure product cost information remains accurate. Prepare cost analysis reports and provide recommendations to management. Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in manufacturing cost estimating, product costing, purchasing, engineering support, or a related field preferred. Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production labor costs. Ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis. Experience with ERP/MRP systems or manufacturing software preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Experience Upholstered furniture manufacturing experience. Experience with product development or engineering support. Knowledge of manufacturing routings and labor standards. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
