Position Overview:
The HVAC Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate HVAC estimates for new residential construction projects. This position works closely with builders, project managers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure estimates are complete, competitive, and aligned with project specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate HVAC estimates for residential new construction projects Review blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and create mechanical drawings to determine project requirements Perform material takeoffs, labor calculations, and equipment selections Generate complete proposals and bid packages for builders and general contractors Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, and field operations to ensure a smooth transition from awarded projects to production Communicate with builders, contractors, vendors, and internal teams regarding project scope, revisions, and pricing Maintain organized project files, estimate documentation, and bid records Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards Stay current on equipment pricing, building codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry trends Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Qualifications:
Previous HVAC estimating experience preferred (Residential New Construction experience is a plus) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction documents Knowledge of residential HVAC systems, duct layouts, equipment sizing, and installation methods Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Ability to work independently/ team based environment while collaborating with multiple departments Strong communication skills and attention to detail
