An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
Full-Time Position | Raleigh, North Carolina This position is based in Raleigh, NC. Relocation assistance or reimbursement is not available. For over 40 years, DARI has specialized in asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, and demolition for commercial, institutional, government, and private-sector clients. DARI is seeking an experienced professional with a bachelor's degree in construction management, structural engineering, or civil engineering, and is required. This role will manage projects from pre-bid through completion. Construction, demolition, or regulated-industry experience is preferred. Industry-specific training in asbestos abatement and environmental remediation will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare detailed estimates for asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, and demolition projects Perform quantity takeoffs and review construction drawings, specifications, and environmental reports Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs Manage projects from award through completion and closeout Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project resources Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, job costs, and profitability Plan demolition sequencing, containment systems, site logistics, and utility shutdowns Coordinate permits, inspections, waste manifests, and disposal documentation Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, AHERA, and state regulations Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, field personnel, and company leadership
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A
bachelor's degree in construction management, structural engineering, or civil engineering, is required. 7+ years of relevant construction industry experience , preferably involving asbestos abatement, environmental remediation, demolition, or hazardous materials Project management and/or estimating experience Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and margin management Experience managing commercial, industrial, institutional, government, or public-sector projects Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work independently in a highly regulated, deadline-driven environment
