Nuclear Cost Estimator (Sage Estimating SME)
Objective:
Provide expert cost estimation for complex nuclear power plant projects while serving as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Sage Estimating software.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain accurate, high-fidelity cost estimates for nuclear construction/maintenance projects. Consult on the architectural configuration and system setup of the Sage Estimating environment. project cost estimates Job Description Roles and Responsibilities We are seeking a highly analytical and technically adept Cost Estimator to join our project team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed project estimates for nuclear power plant initiatives, ensuring that all financial models align with project scopes and regulatory requirements. Beyond estimation, you will act as the technical advisor for our Sage Estimating implementation, driving the efficiency of our estimating workflows and maintaining our central cost database.
Key Responsibilities Estimation Delivery:
Perform detailed quantity take-offs, develop labor/material cost estimates, and manage contingency/risk assessment models for nuclear-grade infrastructure.
Sage Estimating Strategy:
Act as the internal consultant for the Sage Estimating tool. Advise leadership on software configuration, system integration, and workflow optimization to ensure industry best practices.
Database Management:
Oversee the integrity, maintenance, and structure of multiple cost element databases. Ensure all assemblies, items, and cost codes are updated to reflect current market rates and site-specific conditions. Advise on recommended commodity codes for incorporation into the Octave software suite for linking to the
BWRX-300
components.
Stakeholder Consultation:
Provide expert-level guidance to project managers and engineers regarding the financial impact of design changes and technical requirements.
Compliance & Standardization:
Establish standardized estimating procedures, ensuring compliance with nuclear industry safety and financial reporting standards.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience in cost estimating, specifically within nuclear, heavy industrial, or complex infrastructure sectors.
Software Expertise:
Advanced, hands-on experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Sage Estimating .
Technical Skills:
Ability to build and troubleshoot complex assemblies and cost databases; advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP/Project Management software integration.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of nuclear project lifecycles, procurement, and labor requirements in highly regulated environments.
Analytical Ability:
Exceptional attention to detail; ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable project costs. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Relocation Assistance Provided:
No For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $118,600.00 and $197,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
