With decades of experience delivering site development, utility, roadway, excavation, and public infrastructure projects, the company is recognized for its commitment to quality, safety, and long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth and a robust project pipeline, they are seeking a skilled Estimator to strengthen their preconstruction team. Job Description Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for civil construction projects. Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, drainage, and related civil construction activities. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Develop labor, equipment, and material cost analyses to ensure accurate project pricing. Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Executive Leadership during bid preparation. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required. Maintain current market knowledge regarding labor rates, equipment costs, material pricing, and subcontractor availability. Prepare bid packages and ensure timely submission of proposals. Support project handoff meetings to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to operations. Assist in developing estimating databases and improving estimating processes and procedures. The Successful Applicant A successful Civil Estimator should have: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 7+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction, site development, underground utilities, highways, or infrastructure projects. Proven ability to prepare estimates ranging from $1M to $50M+ projects. Strong knowledge of civil construction means, methods, materials, and equipment. Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, Bluebeam, Bid2Win, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Local market knowledge and established subcontractor/vendor relationships are highly desirable. What's on Offer $160,000 base salary Annual performance-based bonus.
