Job Description Estimating & Preconstruction Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate project estimates. Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, drainage, and related civil scopes. Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Develop detailed project budgets and bid proposals. Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities. Participate in bid strategy and project pursuit meetings. Project Management Manage projects from award through closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and equipment resources. Monitor project performance related to schedule, budget, quality, and safety. Review and approve subcontractor invoices, pay applications, and purchase orders. Prepare and negotiate change orders and contract modifications. The Successful Applicant Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating and project management. Strong knowledge of sitework, excavation, utilities, paving, and infrastructure projects. Experience preparing competitive estimates and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong negotiation, leadership, and client-facing communication skills. Proficiency with estimating and project management software. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region.
