Job Summary Eastern Construction & Electric Inc. is a construction company that has been in business since 1991 specializing in commercial and government contract work. We are currently looking to hire a Senior Construction Estimator. The Senior Estimator will lead in estimating jobs for bid for Federal construction projects located in NJ, PA, and DE. This job requires collaboration with our project managers, VP of operations, mechanical and electrical estimators as well as subcontractors. Experience with government project specifications and expectations to help develop competitive estimates is a huge plus! Company offers competitive salary, health insurance, 401K and vacation. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as Trimble Auto Bid, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost estimates. Develop comprehensive project budgets by estimating costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor services, and overhead. Engage in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Updating estimates as project scopes evolve, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints. Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements, present estimates, and explain cost variations or adjustments. Review construction schedules and collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project timelines. Stay current on industry trends, new estimating techniques, and updates in construction codes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Experience 10+ years of general construction estimating. Government bidding preferred but not required. Knowledge with general computer software such as Microsoft office and estimating software. Education Degree preferred but not required Strong skills in negotiation, cost management, and pricing strategies to optimize project profitability. Construction site experience is highly valued for understanding present realities that impact estimates. Job site visits and walk throughs We are looking to hire someone who is motivated and driven, who can be self sufficient but also a team player, and wants to help us progress as a company. We are a small business and work closely together as a whole. We're looking for someone who is ambitious and has expertise knowledge in the field of estimating to grow with the company.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
