Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our growing architectural millwork team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for cabinetry, moulding, and specialty projects. You will need to be able to review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine costs for material, labor, hardware, and finishing. You must be able to manage projects from inception to completion. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, managing costs, and coordinating with clients and subcontractors will be essential to delivering successful projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software to prepare detailed project bids and proposals. Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost management strategies. Estimating labor hours for shop drawings, engineering, CNC, fabrication, assembly, and finishing to complete a job or project. Coordinate with project teams to ensure estimates are comprehensive and reflect current market conditions for materials and labor. Oversee the entire estimation process for commercial construction projects, including quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and risk assessment. Monitor project progress through construction management software, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Communicate effectively with clients regarding project scope, cost estimates, and potential changes or issues that may arise during construction. Review construction plans thoroughly to interpret technical drawings accurately and identify potential challenges early in the process. Support project management activities by assisting in scheduling, resource allocation, and contract administration. Experience Proven experience estimating custom cabinetry and millwork. Must have experience reviewing and interpreting architectural drwings, CAD files, technical design documents, fabrication drawings, and construction details. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). If you have experience with Cabinet Vision that is a plus. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical specifications. Demonstrated ability in cost control, material cost estimating, and budgeting for large-scale projects. Strong understanding of cabinet construction, materials, hardware, finishes, and fabrications methods. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of construction management processes. Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout all phases of a project. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
