Job Description
As an Estimator on Tesla's Facilities and Construction team in Sparks, NV, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for projects ranging from tenant improvements to large-scale industrial facilities. You will partner with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to validate scope, support procurement, and help deliver projects on time and within budget. Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for all necessary divisions, including CSA and MEP, from concept through IFC drawing packages Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and RFPs to develop comprehensive bid packages, collaborating with internal and external teams to validate scope and assumptions Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids Maintain and update historical cost databases and benchmarking data Support value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality Assist in contract negotiations and procurement strategies Track and report on budget variances throughout the project lifecycle while supporting multiple concurrent projects Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3-7+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments Proficiency with takeoff software such as Bluebeam or similar Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret CSA and MEP drawings Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience working with GCs, subcontractors, and design teams in a fast-paced environment Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
