JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Supports the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction, energy, infrastructure, and environmental projects. Assists with reviewing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs, gathering pricing information, and preparing bid packages while developing knowledge of construction estimating practices and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, drawings, and related documentation to understand project scope and requirements. Support the preparation of quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Research material pricing, labor rates, and subcontractor quotes to support the estimating process. Assist with compiling bid proposals, supporting documentation, and bid submissions. Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, proposals, and project documentation. Coordinate with estimators, project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather information needed for bids. Participate in project reviews, site visits, and pre-bid meetings as needed. Assist in tracking bid results and analyzing estimate performance to support continuous improvement efforts. Travel to job sites, client meetings, and project review sessions as required. Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered. 1 year of construction, estimating, project coordination, or related experience preferred. Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and construction methods. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; estimating software and Procore experience are a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to learn estimating principles, industry terminology, and company procedures. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass a drug test, background check, and medical card evaluation. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English related to job duties and safety requirements.
