Job Description
Job Description Peckham Industries is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead milling and paving estimates for public and private infrastructure projects across the Northeast. In this role, you will analyze plans and specifications, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, and develop accurate cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors. You will prepare competitive bids, support project handoffs, and collaborate closely with operations and project teams to ensure constructability and alignment with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Lead preparation of detailed estimates for milling and paving projects across the Northeast Review civil and roadway plans, specifications, and addenda to determine project scope and risks Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors Develop complete bid proposals and supporting documentation for public and private clients Collaborate with operations, project management, and field teams to validate production rates and constructability Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes Support project handoff, budgets, and value engineering after award Maintain estimating databases, historical costs, and best practices Ensure all estimates align with safety, quality, and company standards Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders Required Skills Construction estimating Milling and paving operations Civil/roadway plans reading Quantity takeoffs Cost analysis and budgeting Bid preparation and proposals Estimating software (e.g., HCSS, B2 W) MS Excel and Office Suite Vendor and subcontractor pricing DOT specifications and standards
