Electrical Estimator WorkForge - 4.5 Long Island City, NY Job Details Full-time $140,000 - $160,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Qualifications Customer communication Bluebeam Electrical estimating for communication systems Math Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description About the Role We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, excellent plan-reading skills, and experience managing multiple estimates in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope. Prepare detailed electrical estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors . Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications. Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations. Prepare complete bid proposals, cost summaries, and supporting documentation . Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities . Work with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and design requirements. Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and current pricing. Manage multiple bids and consistently meet project deadlines. Contribute to improving estimating procedures, workflows, and best practices. Qualifications 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience. Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and NEC requirements . Experience estimating projects ranging from tenant fit-outs to large commercial construction projects . Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents . Proficiency with ConEst or similar estimating software . Advanced skills in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel . Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team. Experience in the New York City commercial construction market is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required. What We're Looking For We are looking for a detail-oriented estimator who can take ownership of the estimating process, work effectively with subcontractors and vendors, and consistently deliver accurate bids within tight deadlines.
Pay:
$140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
