Window and Door Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and sales-oriented Window and Door Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for finding bid opportunities that match our services, preparing proposals for all bid opportunities, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will help bring and win profitable bids while maintaining high standards for quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative construction projects, utilizing your skills in construction estimating, negotiation, and project management to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine scope of work for windows and doors installations. Find bid opportunities using bid boards like bidnetdirect, buildingconnected, and local city bid boards. Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost estimates that include materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Conduct takeoffs for product quantities. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather accurate information for precise pricing. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while ensuring quality standards are met. Develop comprehensive proposals that clearly outline scope, costs, timelines, and contractual terms. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project budgets and schedules. Ability to cold call GCs and property managements in order to make the connection between their companies and ours. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to support effective cost control and minimize overruns. Assist in contract review and management, ensuring all terms are clear and achievable within project constraints. Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, contracts, and correspondence for future reference. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within the window and door or general construction industry. Proven experience establishing relationships with Property Managers and General Contractors. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management practices. Familiarity with Bluebeam software for takeoff and document management. Experience using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools is highly preferred. Experience using bid boards is required. Demonstrated ability in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable pricing agreements. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present estimates and negotiate effectively across diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of cost control strategies to keep projects within budget without compromising quality or safety.
