Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Construction Estimator to join our team and lead the estimating process for commercial and industrial HVAC construction projects. This position is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, developing accurate material and labor estimates, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, and preparing competitive bids. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of HVAC systems and construction practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications while managing multiple estimates under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Review architectural, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for HVAC and mechanical systems. Develop accurate estimates for equipment, materials, labor, subcontractors, rentals, permits, and other project costs. Estimate HVAC systems including, as applicable, ductwork, piping, air handling units, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, split systems, pumps, controls, insulation, and ventilation systems. Solicit and evaluate competitive pricing from equipment manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals, including scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, alternates, and clarifications. Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential design conflicts, omissions, scope gaps, and cost risks. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to clarify scope and pricing. Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, historical cost data, and vendor quotes. Track labor and material pricing and maintain current cost databases. Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations. Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope accuracy and completeness. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
