Metal Fabrication EstimatorLocation:
Amelia, OHSalary:
$65,000-$70,000 per year

In personJob SummaryThe Metal Fabrication Estimator prepares quotations for metal fabrication, powder coating, and wet coating projects by analyzing Requests for Quote (RFQs), technical drawings, and associated specifications.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop estimate strategies to ensure an effective estimating process.

Read and interpret design packages, specifications, and technical drawings.

Identify and minimize financial risk throughout the estimating process.

Calculate costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes, finishing processes, and time requirements using the company ERP system, Paperless Parts, ECI JobBOSS, and established hourly rates based on drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Work with Procurement to solicit and collect material costs.

Work with Engineering to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.

Work with Production Departments to establish options for fabrication and finishing methods.

Maintain metrics related to the quality and timeliness of estimates provided to customers, as well as the win/loss ratio of estimates submitted.

Review and recommend updates to work center rates.

Regularly review job costing to establish the accuracy of estimates and the estimating process.

Solicit feedback from Production Departments to improve estimating accuracy.

Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Contribute to the team effort by performing duties within the Sales Department and other departments, including Production Departments, as needed.

Track individual and/or company KPIs and metrics and strive for daily improvements.
