BUILDER WANTED.
Senior Estimator Not just a Senior Estimator. A Builder. You build possibilities before construction ever begins. You turn plans, specifications, market data, and subcontractor input into the budgets, estimates, and strategies that set projects up for success. At HGC Construction, we're looking for a Senior Estimator who sees both the details and the bigger picture—someone who can identify risk, uncover opportunities, collaborate with project partners, and bring clarity to complex commercial construction projects from the earliest stages. A Legacy of Building Careers At HGC Construction, we're building for the long haul. We believe exceptional projects are built by exceptional people who share our values. We know our employees are more than their job titles—they're people with families, interests, and lives beyond work. That's why we work hard, support one another, celebrate wins together, and create opportunities for growth. Our teams are united by a commitment to quality, integrity, and doing the right thing. We're not just building structures—we're building careers, relationships, and a legacy that lasts. What You'll Build Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMPs, and competitive bids for commercial construction projects. Perform quantity takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for complete scope coverage. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, project risks, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams. Present estimate summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and value-engineering recommendations. Maintain current cost data, market pricing, and estimating tools. Support project handoffs from preconstruction to operations. Use Sage Estimating and digital takeoff platforms such as Autodesk Takeoff or On-Screen Takeoff. Conduct site visits as needed. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Previous construction estimating or related experience. Experience preparing conceptual estimates, detailed estimates, negotiated budgets, GMPs, and lump-sum bids. Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, building methods, and subcontractor scopes. Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Excel. Understanding of cost control, risk analysis, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to project sites. The Bottom Line This role is for someone who knows that a successful project starts long before anyone steps onto the jobsite. You'll help shape commercial construction projects from the earliest conversations, bringing together cost, scope, risk, and opportunity to create a clear path forward. We're not looking for someone to simply produce estimates. We're looking for someone who digs into the details, asks the right questions, builds trust with project partners, and helps turn plans into possibilities. If that sounds like you, let's build something great together.
