In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, timelines, and resources required for steel fabrication projects. Your expertise will drive project planning, support procurement strategies, and ensure competitive bidding. Responsibilities Analyze project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop precise cost estimates for steel fabrication projects. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to gather accurate data on materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle to input data, track project progress, and manage inventory control and demand planning activities. Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards. Prepare detailed proposals, bid packages, and cost breakdowns that clearly communicate project scope and pricing strategies. Monitor supply chain activities to ensure timely procurement of materials while managing inventory management and inventory control processes. Support demand forecasting and production planning efforts by providing accurate estimations that align with manufacturing schedules and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems. Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, revisions, and project documentation for audit readiness and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience in steel fabrication estimating or a related manufacturing environment with a focus on construction or industrial projects. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, demand planning, MRP systems, ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle. Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques to optimize processes and reduce waste. Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, inventory control, and forecasting methodologies. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and present clear estimates to stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
