Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Lead Estimator to lead our estimating efforts and help drive the success of our commercial, and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive construction knowledge, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates while collaborating closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.Essential Accountabilities:
Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects up to $5M in size. Review plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis on projects. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Develop budgets, cost models, and value-engineering recommendations. Identify project risks and opportunities during preconstruction. Coordinate with project management, operations, and executive leadership teams. Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid records. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed. Mentor and oversee junior estimators and estimating staff.Requirements:
3+ years of construction estimating experience, with leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. Proven track record of preparing successful bids and managing multiple estimates simultaneously. Valid Drivers License. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service and safe working practices. Compatible with company culture and core values. Preferred Skills Construction Management Degree or Course Work. Knowledge of project scheduling and construction management practices. Familiarity with cost-control and budgeting principles. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Additional Compensation:
