Role Description This full-time, on-site Project Estimator role is based at the Swanton, OH facility. The Project Estimator reviews drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate cost estimates for custom and structural steel projects. Daily responsibilities include analyzing labor, material, and equipment requirements; preparing detailed bid packages; and collaborating with project managers, engineering, and production teams to clarify scope and pricing. The role involves tracking estimate assumptions, updating cost data, and supporting budgeting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Estimator also communicates with vendors and customers to obtain pricing, clarify project details, and support timely, competitive bids. Qualifications Strong project estimation abilities, including Project Estimation and Construction Estimating skills for steel fabrication and related projects. Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop accurate estimates, track costs, and support financial planning for projects. Clear and professional Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers and to present estimate findings. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications relevant to fabrication and construction projects. Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications used in project costing and reporting. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation. Relevant experience in steel fabrication, construction, or industrial manufacturing estimating; prior experience in a similar role is preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
