Job Description
About the Role Rigid Industrial Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in heavy industrial and oil/gas work, along with commercial project experience. This role is critical to our bidding and project planning process and requires someone who can work independently, think on their feet, and make sound decisions with minimal oversight. Job Summary Attend job bid walks and site visits to evaluate scope of work Perform electrical take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates using Accubid Analyze plans, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate, competitive bids Assist Operations with job scheduling and manpower planning/needs Coordinate with project managers and field leadership to ensure estimates align with real-world execution Track and evaluate material and labor costs across heavy industrial, oil/gas, and commercial projects Qualifications Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in heavy industrial and oil/gas sectors Commercial estimating experience preferred Proficiency in Accubid required Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and labor costing Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications Self-motivated with strong independent decision-making skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight bid deadlines Strong organizational and communication skills to support scheduling and manpower coordination What We're Looking For We need someone who doesn't need to be micromanaged — a self-starter who can assess a situation quickly, make smart calls independently, and keep projects moving without waiting for direction on every detail.
