This is a great opportunity for someone with a general understanding of commercial construction who is interested in developing their estimating skills and building a long-term career. We are looking for someone who is driven, focused, detail-oriented, teachable, and able to take initiative . The ideal candidate can take a task and run with it without constant direction, while also being willing to learn and ask questions when needed. Responsibilities Search construction bidding websites for potential projects and bidding opportunities Review construction plans, drawings, and bid documents Perform takeoffs from construction drawings Print and organize drawings and create job folders for bidding Enter takeoff and project information into Excel spreadsheets Assist with preparing estimates and bids Email and submit bids Maintain organized bid and project documentation Perform other estimating and office duties as assigned Qualifications General knowledge of commercial construction Ability to read and understand construction drawings Basic computer skills Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and working with spreadsheets Strong attention to detail Focused and able to work without becoming easily distracted Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Takes initiative and follows tasks through to completion Organized and dependable Teachable and receptive to feedback Willing to learn and grow within the position Previous estimating experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person with a basic understanding of construction, strong computer skills, and the ability to learn.
