Full Job Description Description:
Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. delivers confidence through our products and our people. We are seeking a results oriented Residential Estimator to join our Building Materials team. This role is responsible for performing blueprint takeoffs on framing materials on residential projects. This person will coordinate closely with the inside sales team, making sure to get jobs bid in a timely fashion within strict deadlines set forth by the general contractor.
Responsibilities:
Perform blueprint estimates on framing/siding/building hardware. Communication with sales staff to ensure timely quotes and estimates. Utilize software to keep up to date on all future estimates. Review customer blueprints and ensure customer has the correct products per plans and specifications. Maintain high level of customer service through organization of tasks and responsibilities. Build effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders. Monitor and communicate on the status of customer jobs and accounts through the building process.
Requirements:
2 years of estimating experience. Building material knowledge preferably in lumber/framing construction. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design layouts. Knowledge of the building process and building materials. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of customers, verbally and written. Demonstrated expertise in efficiently coordinating and overseeing the timely completion of tasks, both individually and within a team. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate in a team-based atmosphere. Can lift 50lbs repetitively/100 lbs. in a team lift.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Microsoft office, BisTrack, Warehouse Management System, Planswift and IOS applications.
