Compensation:
$80K-120K+ DOE
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8-hour days

A local manufacturing company specializing in the design and development of highly reliable, intuitive control systems for machinery is seeking experienced Panel Builders / Controls Engineers to join their team. This company partners closely with customers from concept through completion and offers highly customized automation solutions.
What You'll Do:
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and personable Controls Engineer to work under the Principal Engineer, supporting the preparation of estimates and quotes while assuming electrical design responsibility across a variety of engineering and production projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and engineering, including specifying mechanical and electrical components, pricing materials, estimating manufacturing labor hours, and managing the quote process from development through completion. Some project management experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand, support, and implement Automation Solutions' best practices and preferred product initiatives Prepare cost estimates and proposals related to UL 508 and NFPA 79 controls, custom automated machinery, and material handling equipment Accurately define labor hours, material costs, and outside service costs for parts, assemblies, and tooling Collaborate with vendors to obtain technical details and pricing to ensure proper component selection Assist in defining project scope and objectives, including design considerations, with relevant stakeholders Manage changes to project scope, schedules, and costs in coordination with sales and engineering teams Acquire customer approvals and change orders when required Meet quote deadlines, including expedited customer requests Present technical information clearly and professionally to customers and internal teams Follow up on submitted quotes and manage quote requests within the pipeline Perform hands-on engineering support as needed to complete projects Utilize software such as JobBOSS, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to review drawings and generate accurate quotes
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's degree in electronics, engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in electrical controls programming, production, or related manufacturing environments Prior experience with costing, estimating, or proposal development Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components used in automation and machinery What's in It for
