Job Description

Electrical Estimator Gross Electric, Inc. is a growing electrical contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, industrial, institutional, mission-critical, and advanced manufacturing projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. This position will be responsible for both new project estimating and change order estimating on active projects . We are looking for someone who understands electrical construction, can work through complex drawings and specifications, and can develop accurate, well-supported pricing from initial takeoff through final proposal. Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical estimates for new projects, change orders, and additional work. Perform complete material and labor takeoffs from drawings, specifications, sketches, RFIs, and other contract documents. Develop and price change order proposals for active projects. Review change documentation to clearly identify scope additions, deletions, and impacts. Work with Project Managers and field teams to understand actual field conditions, installation methods, labor impacts, and schedule impacts associated with changes. Prepare clear, detailed proposals with appropriate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, escalation, bonding, and other project costs. Review drawings, specifications, contracts, addenda, RFIs, and bid documents to identify scope requirements and potential risks. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Assist with bid leveling, scope reviews, and final estimate preparation. Maintain accurate estimating records and supporting documentation. Participate in estimate reviews and turnover meetings with Operations and Project Management. Assist Project Managers with pricing and backup needed to negotiate change orders with owners and general contractors. Qualifications 5+ years of electrical industry experience in estimating, project management, or a similar role. Strong understanding of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional electrical construction. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, contract documents, and construction schedules. Experience developing hard bids, negotiated estimates, budgets, and change order pricing. Strong understanding of electrical labor, materials, equipment, and installation methods. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with computerized estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Accubid experience is strongly preferred. College degree is preferred but not required with sufficient electrical construction experience. What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience.
