Job Description

Conewago is currently seeking a Steel Estimator. Applicant will be responsible for review of the scope of work to assure the project is within the capabilities of the Fabrication Plant. In addition, the applicant will be required to perform accurate take-offs, imputing data into estimating software, acquiring current material pricing and preparing proposals. The Steel Estimator my also work directly with the customer during the bidding process to assure the most accurate proposal is provided.
Duties include:
Review job specifications and scope of work to assure current capabilities and certifications meet or exceed scope requirements. Complete "Bid Tech Form" in accordance with AISC. Perform accurate take-off. Interpret section details (Structural and Architectural) and apply to appropriate areas. Input data into estimating software. Acquire current material pricing. Research and acquire pricing on buy out items. Work directly with customer to assure the most accurate proposal. Prepare the proposal, qualifications and exceptions. Bid follow up for tracking award and competitiveness. Work with General Manager during contract review.
