Commercial Roofing Estimator Confidential Opportunity | Western Pennsylvania An established and growing commercial roofing contractor in Western Pennsylvania is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to join its team as a Commercial Roofing Estimator. This position is well suited for either an experienced estimator or a construction professional—such as a carpenter, foreman, or project coordinator—who understands how work gets built and is ready to transition into an estimating and project-management role. Commercial roofing experience is preferred but not required for a strong candidate with relevant construction experience and the ability to learn. Position Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project requirements Perform field measurements and attend pre-bid site visits Prepare material takeoffs, labor estimates, and competitive proposals Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors Identify project risks, exclusions, alternates, and unusual conditions Communicate with owners, general contractors, architects, suppliers, and field personnel Assist with project handoff, purchasing, scheduling, and job-cost tracking Maintain organized bid records and follow up on submitted proposals Develop a working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, insulation, sheet metal, shingle, slate, tile, shake and related accessories Ideal Candidate Construction field, estimating, project-management, or supervisory experience Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Strong mathematical, organizational, and computer skills Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy Comfortable communicating professionally with customers and vendors Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple bids Practical understanding of labor, materials, and jobsite conditions Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Commercial roofing knowledge is a plus, but training may be provided We place significant value on practical construction experience. A candidate transitioning from the trades who demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, computer aptitude, and a willingness to learn will receive serious consideration.
