Job Description Prepare detailed construction cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze material, labor, and equipment costs. Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids. Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and ownership teams during preconstruction planning. Identify potential project risks and opportunities for value engineering. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project budgets. Maintain current pricing databases and estimating records. Review construction documents to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Support contract negotiations and project handoff activities. The Successful Applicant A successful Building and Construction Estimator should have: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred. 3+ years of estimating experience within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes. Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating for commercial, industrial, or residential projects. Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms. Strong Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities. Key Traits Highly organized and detail-oriented.
