Job Description
Seeking a Fire Sprinkler Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for water-based fire protection projects. This role is responsible for reviewing bid documents, completing material and labor takeoffs, obtaining pricing, assessing project risks, and developing proposals that support code compliance and profitability. Job Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, contracts, addenda, and bid documents. Determine project scope, hazard classifications, and system requirements. Perform material takeoffs for piping, sprinklers, valves, fittings, hangers, risers, and related equipment. Estimate labor, equipment, permits, freight, subcontractor costs, overhead, and contingency. Conduct site visits to evaluate water supply, access, structural conditions, and installation constraints. Obtain and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing. Prepare proposals, assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and project handoff documentation. Collaborate with customers, project managers, designers, purchasing, fabrication, and field teams. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler estimating, design, installation, project management , or related field work preferred. Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and water-based fire protection systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience with material takeoffs, labor forecasting, and cost estimating. Proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating software. Strong analytical, mathematical, negotiation, and communication skills. NICET certification preferred.
