Job Description Tague Lumber seeks a Project Manager / Estimator to lead construction projects from bid through completion. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing accurate takeoffs and estimates, developing proposals, and coordinating with sales, operations, and vendors. You will manage budgets, schedules, and change orders while ensuring quality, safety, and strong customer communication. This role is ideal for detail-oriented construction professionals who enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with contractors and builders, and building a long-term career with a respected, family-owned supplier. Responsibilities Review plans, specs, and scope to prepare detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates Develop and submit accurate, timely bids and proposals to contractors and builders Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and operations to ensure material availability and on-time delivery Manage project budgets, schedules, and change orders from award through completion Communicate proactively with customers regarding project status, value engineering options, and issue resolution Collaborate with yard, dispatch, and millwork teams to meet quality and service expectations Maintain organized project documentation, quotes, and job files in company systems Support safe work practices and adherence to company and customer jobsite requirements Analyze job performance to improve estimating accuracy and margin management Build long-term relationships with professional builders, remodelers, and trade partners Required Skills Construction project management Construction estimating Blueprint and plan reading Material takeoffs (lumber, millwork, building materials) Cost analysis and budget management Scheduling and coordination Change order management Customer and vendor communication Microsoft Excel and estimating software Building codes and construction methods
