Job Description This estimator will:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates. Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment. Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate budgets and schedules. Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy. Maintain a database of historical cost data for use in future estimates. Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies. Assist in contract negotiations and review of final project budgets. The Successful Applicant The Estimator should have: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial and multi-family projects . Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar). Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents. Knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and market trends. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
