Job Description

Diplomat Demolition is seeking an experienced Demolition Estimator with 3-5 years of direct estimating experience in commercial, structural, and full-building demolition. This role is for someone who understands how demolition work is actually performed in the field and can turn drawings, site conditions, production rates, equipment needs, disposal costs, and project risks into a complete and competitive estimate. Key Responsibilities Prepare estimates for full-building, structural, and commercial demolition projects. Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements. Perform detailed takeoffs and attend site walks and pre-bid meetings. Develop demolition sequencing, means and methods, manpower, equipment, and project durations. Estimate trucking, hauling, disposal, recycling, and material-handling costs. Evaluate site access, neighboring structures, overhead hazards, and logistical constraints. Solicit and review subcontractor, vendor, trucking, and disposal pricing. Identify scope gaps, project risks, exclusions, and clarifications. Prepare clear proposals and complete project turnovers to operations. Review completed projects to compare estimated costs and production against actual results. Maintain organized estimating records and historical cost information. Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of demolition estimating experience required. Experience estimating full-building tear downs and structural demolition. Strong understanding of demolition equipment, production rates, and jobsite logistics. Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and demolition drawings. Knowledge of concrete, steel, masonry, wood-frame, and mixed-construction buildings. Understanding of trucking, disposal, recycling, salvage, and material handling. Strong math, analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines. Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, project managers, and field teams. What We're Looking For We want an estimator who can look beyond the takeoff and understand how the job will actually get done —what equipment is needed, how long it will take, where the material is going, what the risks are, and what it will truly cost. A strong estimate should do more than win the project. It should give our operations team a clear path to execute the work safely, efficiently, and profitably. Why Join Diplomat Demolition? Diplomat Demolition is a growing commercial demolition contractor built around strong field execution, safety, integrity, and accountability. You'll work alongside experienced operations professionals, estimate challenging projects, and play an important role in the continued growth of the company.
