We are looking for an AutoCAD Drafter to join our team and play a key role in keeping our projects compliant and on schedule. Why Join Avarga? You will not just sit behind a screen. This role puts you at the center of real construction projects across New York City. You will create the drawings that make our scaffold installations possible, file the permits that keep our job sites running, and grow into a full construction expediter. File for and manage work permits, sidewalk shed permits, and DOT permits, including new applications and renewals. Process DOB variances for after-hours and weekend work permits. Visit job sites in New York City to take accurate field measurements and photographic documentation for permit filings. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants on permit filings, including TPP and OPP requests. Maintain compliance binders for active job sites and ensure all required documentation is current and accessible. Monitor and track permit expiration dates to ensure timely renewals. Support violation management and documentation for company-managed job sites. Communicate effectively with internal teams, city agencies, and external partners to keep projects moving. What We Are Looking For Proficiency in AutoCAD (required). Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings filing processes is a strong plus. Experience in the construction industry, especially exterior facade restoration, scaffolding, or permit expediting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable traveling to New York City for site visits and agency filings (transportation expenses covered by the company). Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Procore is a plus. Fluent in English. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary of $52,000 to $55,000 per year, with a performance review and salary increase after a successful 90-day introductory period. 12 paid days off per year (1 per month, usable as PTO or sick time). 10 paid company holidays per year. Health insurance with employer covering 50% of the premium. All tools, equipment, and technology provided (computer, software, phone as needed).
