This position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for residential and commercial property damage projects, primarily related to insurance claims. The ideal candidate understands the insurance restoration process and is comfortable reviewing property damage, identifying necessary repairs, preparing detailed estimates, and communicating with homeowners, insurance adjusters, project managers, and subcontractors. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, negotiating, and helping move projects from the initial inspection through approval and completion. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for residential and commercial property repairs related to insurance claims. Review property damage documentation, inspection reports, photographs, scopes of work, and other project information to determine the appropriate repairs. Create estimates using Xactimate or similar insurance estimating software . Perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and applicable services. Review insurance scopes and compare them with the actual work required to identify missing or underestimated items. Prepare and submit supplements when additional damage or required work is identified. Communicate with insurance adjusters, homeowners, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding estimates and project scope. Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with insurance requirements and company standards. Assist with negotiating project costs and resolving discrepancies between contractor estimates and insurance estimates. Maintain organized documentation, photographs, estimates, correspondence, and claim information. Track estimates and project costs using estimating software, spreadsheets, and company systems. Work closely with the production/project management team to ensure the approved scope accurately reflects the work needed to complete the project. Identify potential issues early and communicate cost or scope concerns to management. Provide professional and timely customer service throughout the estimating process.
