Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include pricing strategies, scope of work, and schedule considerations to win new projects across commercial, residential, and government sectors. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed to ensure profitability. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and internal teams to communicate project scope, estimate assumptions, and potential risks clearly. Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that inform accurate cost estimation and material requirements. Experience:
Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the drywall and metal framing trades. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications accurately. Familiarity with construction management software systems for project tracking and cost control. Solid understanding of construction industry practices related to commercial, residential, and government projects. Experience in cost management including material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets. Ability to read blueprints thoroughly and extract detailed material requirements from complex drawings. Strong communication skills for client interaction and internal team collaboration.
