As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets, and supporting the bidding process to secure new contracts. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements for drywall and metal framing. Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing material requirements, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software On Center and On-Screen Takeoff Utilize construction management software to review plans, annotate documents, and collaborate with project teams effectively. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include pricing strategies, scope of work, and schedule considerations to win new projects across commercial, residential, and government sectors. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed to ensure profitability. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and internal teams to communicate project scope, estimate assumptions, and potential risks clearly. Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that inform accurate cost estimation and material requirements. Review construction contracts to ensure scope alignment with estimates and compliance with industry standards. Maintain organized records of all estimating documentation, including spreadsheets, bids, change orders, and correspondence for future reference.

Experience:

Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the drywall and metal framing trades. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications accurately. Familiarity with construction management software systems for project tracking and cost control. Solid understanding of construction industry practices related to commercial, residential, and government projects. Experience in cost management including material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets. Excellent negotiation skills for engaging with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients effectively. Ability to read blueprints thoroughly and extract detailed material requirements from complex drawings. Strong communication skills for client interaction and internal team collaboration.
