An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
Overview We are seeking an experienced Customer Service & Inside Estimating Coordinator to manage incoming customer inquiries, qualify service requests, prepare preliminary estimates, and convert leads into booked jobs. This is not a traditional call-center position. The ideal candidate understands residential repairs and maintenance, can ask customers the right questions, review photos and job details, estimate labor requirements, and confidently explain pricing.
Responsibilities :
Answer incoming calls, texts, emails, and online leads Build rapport with customers and identify their needs Ask detailed questions to properly define the scope of work Review customer photos, measurements, and project descriptions Prepare preliminary estimates for common handyman projects Schedule appointments and coordinate technician availability Follow up on open estimates and unscheduled leads Accurately enter customer, job, and estimate information into ServiceTitan Explain pricing, deposits, and service expectations Maintain a lead-booking rate of at least 50% Communicate clearly with technicians regarding project requirements Identify projects that require an in-person assessment Common projects may include drywall repair, painting, door installation, trim carpentry, fixture replacement, deck repairs, flooring, minor plumbing, and general home maintenance.
Qualifications :
At least two years of customer service, dispatching, inside sales, estimating, or home-services experience Working knowledge of residential repairs, construction, remodeling, or property maintenance Ability to estimate labor hours and recognize common materials Strong phone communication and sales skills Comfortable discussing pricing and asking customers to book Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable learning ServiceTitan and other business software Ability to review photographs and gather measurements remotely
Preferred Experience:
Handyman, remodeling, restoration, property management, construction, or home-services experience Previous experience preparing estimates or work orders ServiceTitan experience Experience following up with leads and closing sales
Compensation :
$20-$25 per hour, based on experience Performance incentives based on booking rate, completed revenue, and estimate follow-up Full-time, in-office/hybrid position
