In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical project bids, managing client relationships, and driving sales growth within the construction industry. Your expertise in electrical estimating, blueprint interpretation, and construction management software will be essential to delivering competitive proposals and securing new projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and sales skills to contribute to the success of our electrical contracting services. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate electrical material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate to prepare detailed bids for commercial electrical projects. Manage project estimates from initial inquiry through final proposal, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Engage with clients, general contractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure contracts and favorable terms. Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Monitor material costs, track bid progress, and update spreadsheets to maintain precise cost control throughout the bidding process. Review construction management software data for project planning, cost management, and progress tracking. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate material quantities and identify potential project challenges early on. Communicate clearly with clients regarding project scope, pricing, and contractual details to foster trust and long-term relationships. Assist in managing contracts by reviewing terms related to electrical work scope, costs, and timelines. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical projects within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and construction management tools. Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications confidently. Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective client communication abilities. Knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platforms is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience managing projects as a construction estimator or in a related role within the construction industry. Familiarity with cost management practices including material cost estimating, cost control strategies, and budgeting for electrical projects. Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground project needs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when reviewing blueprints, spreadsheets, and contracts.
