Job Description

Experienced Commercial Construction Estimator Apopka, Florida | Full-Time | In Office GSeay, Inc. is a growing commercial general contractor seeking an experienced Construction Estimator who can take ownership of the estimating process—from the first plan review through a clean handoff to operations. This is not an entry-level estimating role. We are looking for a detail-driven professional with commercial construction experience, sound judgment, and the ability to build complete, competitive estimates while managing multiple bid deadlines. You will work alongside a collaborative team and have a direct impact on the projects we pursue and build throughout Central Florida. What You'll Do Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid requirements to establish complete project scope. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects. Solicit, follow up with, compare, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, cost risks, and bid clarifications before submission. Prepare proposals, alternates, value-engineering options, budgets, and estimate backup. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed. Coordinate closely with project managers and assist with a thorough project handoff after award. Maintain organized bid files, subcontractor coverage, pricing records, and estimating documentation. Help strengthen our estimating systems, subcontractor relationships, and bidding process. What We're Looking For 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor or commercial construction manager. Proven ability to estimate multi-trade commercial projects independently. Strong plan-reading, specification-review, takeoff, and scope-analysis skills. Experience obtaining and leveling subcontractor bids. Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and local trade costs. Comfortable managing several active bids and firm deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. Procore experience preferred; familiarity with AutoCAD and estimating/takeoff software is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and follow-through. Valid driver's license and ability to attend local site visits. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and demonstrated capability. Health insurance and retirement plan. Paid holidays and paid time off. Stable, full-time, in-office position in Apopka. A practical, team-focused environment where your work directly influences the company's success. Long-term growth opportunity with an established and growing commercial contractor.
To apply:
Please submit your résumé and a short note describing the types of commercial projects you have estimated, your estimating software experience, and your role in managing subcontractor pricing and bid submissions.
