•Oxbow Pool and Landscape Contractors (Oxbow PLC) is a leader in high-end landscape and pool construction throughout the greater Bay Area. Known for quality craftsmanship, thoughtful execution, and strong client relationships, we build complex outdoor environments that bring design, function, and beauty together. Due to increased project volume and continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. This role is critical to our success—setting projects up with accurate budgets, clear scopes, and competitive pricing before construction begins. Position Summary As an Estimator, you will lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for landscape and pool construction projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers to prepare complete, accurate, and competitive estimates that support high-quality project delivery. This position reports to the Head of Estimating. Preconstruction & Estimating Manage estimating and preconstruction activities from initial plan review through final bid submission Maintain estimating schedules and meet all assigned deadlines Plan & Scope Review Review construction drawings, specifications, and design documents with accuracy and confidence Perform constructability reviews and identify scope gaps, conflicts, or risk items Prepare complete and detailed scopes of work for all trades and subcontractors Quantity Takeoffs & Pricing Perform accurate and comprehensive quantity take-offs Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing Review quotes for completeness, accuracy, and scope alignment Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers as needed Estimate Development Prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, and bid leveling sheets Resolve scope overlaps and gaps across multiple trade packages Develop clear qualifications, exclusions, and assumptions Collaboration & Communication Coordinate with landscape architects, engineers, and consultants to clarify scope, materials, and design intent Support project managers with clean handoffs from estimating to construction Assist with final bid assembly and respond to client questions as needed Relationship Building Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to support competitive pricing and quality execution Skills & Experience 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, landscape architecture, or a related field Landscape or building construction experience strongly preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and math skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel required as a primary estimating tool Experience with Pro-Est or other cloud-based estimating software is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of RFIs, negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work If you do not have direct landscape experience, please explain your interest in a cover letter Education Bachelor's degree strongly preferred A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for formal education Schedule & Work Location Monday-Friday In-office role based in Napa, CA Or Remote for very qualified candidate Occasional site visits throughout the Greater Bay area Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Combination of office and outdoor environments Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and typical jobsite conditions Occasional exposure to controlled or hazardous substances Frequent sitting; regular walking and standing on uneven terrain Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance; push/pull heavier objects with assistance Normal manual dexterity, vision, hearing, and verbal communication ability Compensation & Benefits $85,000-$115,000 annually, paid weekly (BOE) Compensation based on experience and qualifications Benefits include: 401(k) with 4% company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid time off Why Oxbow?
