Simpson Company | Elmhurst, IL | On-site | Full-time www.ralphhsimpsonco.com We're a commercial ornamental, miscellaneous metals, and structural steel fabricator serving general contractors across the Chicago area. We're growing, and we're adding an Estimator to our team. Why work here We're a long-established shop where the work is steady and the people stick around. You'll have real ownership of your bids, direct access to the leadership team, and visibility into how your projects turn out once they're awarded. We invest in our people and expect them to grow with us. What you'll do Prepare competitive, accurate estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects. Review plans and specs, and perform detailed quantity takeoffs Apply cost data and historical benchmarks to build out pricing Assemble proposals, bid forms, and qualification documents, including scope letters, clarifications, and exclusions Gather and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing Work with Project Management and subcontractors on construct-ability and schedule input Participate in internal bid reviews and pricing strategy discussions What we're looking for 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, and bid management platforms Sharp attention to detail and solid time management Good verbal and written communication skills Creative problem solver Compensation and benefits Starting at $85,000 Annual bonuses Flexible work from home Fridays Health, vision, and dental insurance with 90% of premium cost covered by the company 401(k) after one year of service, with annual profit sharing Paid vacation and sick time
