Full Job Description Job Title:
Project Controls Estimator Job Description We are seeking a Project Controls Estimator to join our team on a contract-to-direct basis. This position involves developing and reviewing capital, construction, and service cost estimates across various market sectors, primarily focusing on the power/utility industry. Initially, the role requires full-time presence in our Ann Arbor office for the first 5-6 months. Upon demonstrating effectiveness and independence, a more flexible, hybrid schedule may be offered. Responsibilities Develop, evaluate, compile, and present scope and cost data for construction and project estimates. Work on estimates for planning, evaluation/study, or proposal comparison purposes. Demonstrate the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications for cost estimates. Ensure completeness and accuracy of estimates within defined parameters. Coordinate with design and construction staff to gather estimate scope and schedule data. Perform other duties as needed. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience. Fundamental knowledge of General Contracting, EPC construction methods, and industry practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cost estimating/project control software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certifications such as
AEP, CCT, CEP, CACM, CMIT, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, EIT.
Proficiency in estimating software like Sage, Assemble, RS Means. Experience in the construction industry, particularly in Waste, Power, or Industrial sectors. Ability to interpret construction schedules. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Work Environment The role requires working in the office five days a week initially. After proving the ability to work independently and impactfully, a hybrid schedule may be allowed. The office environment is dynamic, focusing on large projects in power and industrial sectors, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $62.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
