An Estimator provides cost estimates for a project, based on an evaluation of the materials, labor, time and equipment needed to complete the project. May specialize in many aspects of construction or in manufacturing and design industries.
Southwest Commercial Interiors is a commercial drywall and acoustical subcontractor serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, North Texas, and Southern Oklahoma. Our work includes commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, municipal, hospitality, retail, and other specialty construction projects.

Metal stud framing Drywall and gypsum assemblies Acoustical ceilings Specialty ceilings and wall systems Insulation and related interior construction Specialty architectural products We are a small, experienced team looking for a Project Manager / Estimator who understands the DFW commercial construction market and can independently manage projects from bid through completion.
Position Overview:
The PM / Estimator will be responsible for both estimating new work and managing awarded projects. This position is best suited for someone with strong commercial construction experience who can read plans and specifications, perform detailed takeoffs, build competitive estimates, communicate with general contractors, and manage projects through procurement, scheduling, change orders, billing, and closeout. The position is hybrid, with a combination of office/work-from-home responsibilities and visits to project sites throughout the DFW area.
Responsibilities:
Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and related scopes Prepare labor and material estimates Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing Prepare proposals, exclusions, clarifications, and alternates Communicate with general contractors during the bidding process Review contracts and project scope after award Prepare material submittals and coordinate procurement Manage material releases, deliveries, and long-lead items Coordinate with field supervision regarding manpower, schedules, materials, and project requirements Track project budgets, labor performance, and material costs Prepare pricing for change orders and additional work Manage RFIs, ASIs, field changes, and other project documentation Attend project meetings and visit jobsites as needed Assist with monthly billing and project cost tracking Maintain relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and project teams Manage multiple projects and estimates simultaneously
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth market Experience with commercial drywall, metal stud framing, acoustical ceilings, or interior construction strongly preferred Experience estimating and/or managing commercial construction projects Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications Understanding of construction schedules, procurement, labor planning, and project costs Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable communicating directly with general contractors, suppliers, architects, field personnel, and management Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general construction software Valid driver's license and ability to visit jobsites throughout

Experience with any of the following is highly preferred: On-Screen Takeoff (OST) Quick Bid BuzzBid Commercial drywall estimating Acoustical ceiling estimating Project management for a specialty subcontractor Construction accounting or job-cost software
